Vison, Ethos & Mission

This is a Church of England School in the Diocese of Truro. Recognising its historic foundation, the school will preserve and develop its religious character in accordance with the principles of the Church of England and in partnership with the Church at parish, deanery and diocesan level.

To develop an enquiring approach to learning, exciting a desire to learn and by responding in ways which encourage and inspires the learner towards 'learning for life'.

The ethos of our school, or the spirit of our community comes mainly from the moral, cultural and spiritual areas of our curriculum. A good deal of which does not come from formal teaching situations.

Each child is a member of a community that is especially devised for them. They are from day one given a feeling of belonging. In this small school they will be well known by each member of staff and a special bond will develop.

Every attempt is made to make work enjoyable and rewarding.

You as a parent are encouraged to come into school to be part of the community. When such relationships are built up your child feels secure and accepted as an important member of a mixed group of adults and children, treated with understanding and respected for their positive contributions to school life - they belong.

To develop the potential of our resources to the full, and to sustain a challenging and stimulating environment to enable each child to realise their full potential, intellectually, socially, emotionally, morally and spiritually.
