Spring Term 2018
We have created films to raise awareness of the need to keep safe online. The internet is a wonderful place however there are aspects that everyone needs to pay attention to.
In English we have written our scripts, in ICT we have used green screening and imovie and spoken about the importance of keeping safe online and the pros and cons of the digital world. There are hints and tips for parents and adults as well as children.
Learning at home...
Already we have had some fantastic pieces of work completed at home to display in class.
Topic work on Aztecs
We have created textile designs and are completing applique work. The clay masks are nearly ready to be painted. In cooking most of us loved the corn bread and the school smelt wonderful. The ABC books in storyjumper are being filled with our own illustrations, voice recordings and text based on research into the legacy of the Aztecs. The creation story is being reenacted in the dance sessions. The textile designs are being assembled and in the final session with get their finishing touches.
World Book Day
On World Book Day (rearranged due to snow!) we came in dressed up as characters for favourite books. There was a whole school shared read with parents in the morning and in the afternoon the older children read to the younger children.
Supermovers in World Book Day outfits!
BBC Ten Pieces Primary Proms
An inspirational visit to the Hall for Cornwall to see the Cornwall Youth Orchestra play a variety of pieces including Beethoven, Dvorak and Copeland.
Last Running Club of the term
All the running club member enjoyed an Easter Egg Hunt through the school grounds. 72 eggs had to be found!
On the Storyjumper site we have made books full of our own text about the Aztec, drawing and photographs - go to the Creative Days tab at the top of the page and click on Aztecs where you will find links to all the books we made. This is just one of the five books shown here.
